What is Falim Gum?

Falim chewing gum

Falim gum is a Turkish gum that has been around for many decades. But it's only in the last 5 years that it has become popular internationally.

Why? Partly because Mondelez, the massive conglomerate that own Falim, started selling it on Amazon and internationally. But also because it's significantly harder than Wrigley's or any other regular gum...

Falim gum got picked up by the mewing community. It's been talked about as a great way to tone and define the face because of its extra resistance.

Thousands, perhaps even millions, of young men and women are becoming interested in improving their jawline, and there's multiple jawline exercisers to help you. Read my full Falim Gum Review here.

✅ PROS

  • 🤑 It's Cheap – you can get a pack of 20 pieces for around $4. That's probably the cheapest jaw exerciser you'll find.
  • 🍬 Lots of Flavors – Because it's made in a factory, there are dozens of artificial flavors. If you don't like the taste of one, just try another!
  • 🏪 Easily Available – if you live in Turkey, Falim gum is in every supermarket, gas station or even every store. For everyone else, it's not hard to find on Amazon.
  • 🍼 Great For Beginners: if you've never trained your jaw before, Falim is a great place to start before moving up to mastic gum.
  • 👨‍🎓 You Can Workout Anywhere, Anytime: chew while you're working, studying, driving or working out.
  • 🦴 Zero Joint Damage: no TMJ or stress on your joints.

❌ CONS

  • 🫐 Not Much Harder Than Regular Gum – it's still a better workout than regular gum... but not by much. It could be a good place to start for beginners before moving on to a harder gum.
  • 🏭 It's Artificial – this is the worst thing because most chewing gums are artificial. In fact, you probably haven't even tried a natural gum before have you?
  • ⚛️ It's Slightly Toxic – Falim contains 2 synthetic antioxidants; E321 and Butyl hyrdoxytoluene. They're used to prevent the gum going rancid and to maintain its white color. These compounds are suspected of being highly toxic for the liver, kidneys and retina as well as elevating cholesterol levels.
  • 😐 Loses its Taste Fast – some people say Falim is tasteless. In my experience, Falim gum had a taste, but it disappeared quickly. After chewing for a few minutes the texture can also become quite rubbery and I had to add another piece.

What is Project Jawline?

Project jawline mastic gum

Project Jawline is a brand of mastic gum sold out of Los Angeles. It was one of the first companies to brand mastic gum as a "chewing gum for your jawline".

Because of its unique branding at the time, it picked up a lot of momentum and interest back in early 2020.

This was also the start of the Covid-19 era, when everyone was getting self-conscious about their appearance. Looking at your face all day in a video call led to record high number of plastic surgery.

        ✅ PROS

        • 🔥 It's Effective: Proejct Jawline is mastic gum, just like STEEL. It has many of the same benefits and it's very effective.
        • 💪 Builds the Right Muscle: it builds the lower portion of the masseter muscle- the part you want to!
        • 👨‍🎓 You Can Workout Anywhere, Anytime: chew while you're working, studying, driving or working out.
        • 🥦 It's a Super Food: greco gum is mastic chewing gum and has all the benefits you'd expect.
        • 👅 Doesn't Lose its Taste – Mastic never loses its fresh, cedar taste
        • 🦴 Zero Joint Damage: no TMJ or stress on your joints.

            ❌ CONS

            • 🪨 Can Be Gritty: the main downside of Project Jawline is the quality of the mastic crystals. They contain small impurities, like grains of sand, which could damage your teeth.
            • 💵 Expensive: for its quality, Project Jawline is kind of expensive. And that's before you factor in the high cost of shipping!
            • 🚢 Slow Shipping: speaking of shipping, it's slow. It's not unusual for your package to take 2-3 weeks to arrive
            • 🪵 Always Out-of-Stock: they don't seem to ever have much supply on hand.
            • 📋 It Runs Out: mastic gum is re-usable so you can chew one piece of separate occasions. However, most people don't do that. Once you chew through your pack, you'll have to order more.
            • 😋 The Taste Isn't For Everyone: Mastic has a fresh cedar flavor. But not everyone likes the taste. Most people's taste buds are used to the sweet mint flavors of regular gum
            • 🗿 Awkward Container: you can't fit it in your pocket and take it with you... which is one of the greatest benefits of chewing gum as a jawline exerciser.
            • ☎️ TERRIBLE Customer Service: once they've got your money they just stop caring. Don't expect a reply to your emails, or god forbid, a refund!

SUMMARY: Project Jawline vs Falim Gum

And the winner is... Project Jawline! It depends on your budget of course and your goals.

Project Jawline is mastic gum and is hence 10x harder than regular gum. And will give you results much faster than with softer gums like Falim.

Falim gum is a cheap (and safe) way for beginners to get started. Once Falim becomes too easy, you can progress to a mastic gum.
