1. Steel Jawline Gum

A Sharper Jawline... or it's FREE

Mastic gum has been chewed for 3000 years by Mediterraneans. But now it's becoming really popular as a jaw exerciser.

Steel Jawline Gum is by far the most popular brand of mastic chewing gum currently on the market. Let's find out why 👇

Steel jawline gum - jaw exerciser

Steel Jawline Gum is known as the best chewing gum for your jawline. It's low risk too: if you don't get a sharper jawline... you get your money back

✅ PROS

  • 🔥 It's INSANELY Effective: Steel has hundreds of reviews and before and after transformation photos to prove that it sharpens your jawline. This is the most important criteria for picking a jaw exerciser. There's no doubt about Jawline Gum's effectiveness.
  • 💪 Builds the Right Muscle: you're trying to improve your jawline and your appearance... the goal isn't to just build muscle in your face, right? You have to build muscle in the right place. The masseter muscle, particularly the lower portion, is the part you want to grow. Other jaw exercisers grow the wrong muscles, which will make your face rounder. More on that later.
  • 👨‍🎓 You Can Workout Anywhere, Anytime: Steel is a type of chewing gum. You can chew it when you're working, studying, driving or working out. It's easy to train and nobody even knows you're doing it. Some of the other jaw exercisers aren't as discrete, and frankly, they'd be embarrassing to pull out in front of other people.
  • 🦴 Zero Joint Damage: chewing a small hard piece of gum is a natural movement and texture for your jaw, teeth and gums. You won't stress any muscles, joints or get TMJ. I can't say the same for some of the other jaw exercisers.
  • 😃 A Sharper Jawline... Or It's FREE: either you'll see an improvement to your jawline after 1 pack, or you'll get your money back. It's that simple.

❌ CONS

  • 🟧 It's Not Available on Amazon: you can only buy STEEL Jawline Gum from steeljawlinegum.com. It if often out-of-stock and you may have to wait to get some.
  • 📋 It Runs Out: mastic gum is re-usable so you can chew one piece of separate occasions. However, most people don't do that. Once you chew through your pack, you'll have to order more.

2. Greco Gum

Now you know mastic is the best jaw exerciser. So you won't be surprised that number 2 on this list is also mastic gum.

If Jawline Gum is out-of-stock, then Greco Gum is a great alternative if you can't wait.

Greco Gum - jaw exerciser

Greco gum is a good mastic gum sold by a Canadian company

✅ PROS

  • 🔥 It's Effective: Greco gum is mastic gum just like Steel. It has many of the same benefits and it's very effective.
  • 💪 Builds the Right Muscle: it builds the lower portion of the masseter muscle- the part you want to!
  • 👨‍🎓 You Can Workout Anywhere, Anytime: chew while you're working, studying, driving or working out.
  • 🥦 It's a Super Food: greco gum is mastic chewing gum and has all the benefits you'd expect.
  • 🦴 Zero Joint Damage: no TMJ or stress on your joints.

❌ CONS

  • 🪨 Can Be Gritty: the main downside of Greco Gum is the quality of the mastic crystals. They contain small impurities, like grains of sand, which could damage your teeth.
  • 💵 Expensive: for its quality, greco gum is kind of expensive. And that's before you factor in the high cost of shipping!
  • 🚢 Slow Shipping: speaking of shipping, it's slow. It's not unusual for your package to take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

3. Falim Gum

Falim gum is a great workout for beginners or older people. It's slightly harder than regular gum but far softer than mastic gum.

Falim gum - jaw exerciser

Falim is a hard, artificial Turkish gum that is good for beginners

✅ PROS

  • 🛍 It's Cheap: it's a really common chewing gum in Turkey and Eastern Europe. You'll find it in most corner stores in those countries, and it won't cost more than a few dollar a pack.
  • 🍼 Great For Beginners: if you've never trained your jaw before, Falim is a great place to start before moving up to mastic gum.
  • 👨‍🎓 You Can Workout Anywhere, Anytime: chew while you're working, studying, driving or working out.
  • 🦴 Zero Joint Damage: no TMJ or stress on your joints.

❌ CONS

  • 🐤 Not Much Different From Regular Gum: results will be pretty slow unless you increase the intensity of your jaw workouts.
  • 🦪 Doesn't Taste That Good: there's lots of flavors, so you might be able to find one that you like. That makes it hard to chew for many hours- which you need to do to get a workout.

4. Project Jawline

Not all brands of mastic gum are the same. Project jawline isn't the best, but it's still mastic gum. It's still a better jaw exerciser than most than the next 5 further down the list.

Project jawline - jaw exerciser

Chewing mastic gum is BY FAR the best jaw exercise. Project Jawline crystals are effective, but the quality isn't as good as the 2 mastic gums recommended above

✅ PROS

  • 🔥 It's Effective: project jawline is mastic gum just like Steel. It has many of the same benefits and it very effective.
  • 💪 Builds the Right Muscle: it builds the lower portion of the masseter muscle, the part you want to!
  • 👨‍🎓 You Can Workout Anywhere, Anytime: chew while you're working, studying, driving or working out.
  • 🦴 Zero Joint Damage: no TMJ or stress on your joints.

❌ CONS

  • 🪨 Poor Quality: project jawline gum could do with some more filtering.... there's lots of small pieces of grit and grains. Both inside the crystals and in the container.
  • 🎒 Annoying to Carry Around: the container it comes in is inconvenient to carry around. It doesn't fit in your pocket like most packs of gum.
  • 🚢 Slow Shipping (Gum Might Not Arrive): in most cases you'll get your money back...

5. Chisell

Chisell is the best jaw exerciser of the "rubber chewing capsule" type. They are made by a Latvian company and work for some people, but not for everyone.

Chisell - jaw exerciser

The Chisell jaw exerciser is a good supplement to chewing mastic gum

✅ PROS

  • 💪 Works the Masseter Muscle: the is an achievement itself because most jaw exercisers don't actually workout your jaw! They stimulate the temporalis muscle on the side of your head, above your year.
  • 🧰 Easy to Carry Around: it comes in a convenient container that fits in your pocket. You can easily take them around with you. After usage, they'll get covered in saliva- so you can just put them straight into the container.
  • 🏚 Doesn't Break Easily: spend your money and you'll at least get something that doesn't break within the first 2 weeks.

❌ CONS

  • 🦴 A Bit Risky For Jaw Joints: I wish the capsules were smaller. They're a little bit too big and put the jaw in an unnatural position. Increasing the risk of doing damage.
  • 🚢 Slow Shipping (Gum Might Not Arrive): in most cases you'll get your money back...

6. Jawliner

Jawliner comes from a German company that is constantly trying to improve their product. It's similar to Chisell, and can stimulate the masseter muscle decently. Let's look at why it's not higher up on the list.

Jawliner - jaw exerciser

These Jawliner rubber capsules sit between your molar teeth at the back of your mouth.

❌ CONS

  • 🦴 A Bit Risky For Jaw Joints: I wish the capsules were smaller. They're a little bit too big and put the jaw in an unnatural position. Increasing the risk of doing damage.
  • 📲 They're Hard to Contact: if you want a refund or your capsules don't arrive, it can be hard to get into contact with them. I'm just saying that things may take longer than expected
  • 🏚 Can Still Break: the newer jawliner models can break in your mouth.

7. JawFlex Ultimate

This looks like a spring between two mouth guards. It's uncomfortable, awkward, ugly and impractical- but it kind of works!

Let's look at who the JawFlex is for and what jawline and facial exercise goals it might help you reach.

JawFlex Ultimate - jaw exerciser

It looks lame, but JawFlex is a safe way to stimulate your chewing muscles

✅ PROS

  • 💪 Works the Masseter Muscle: the biggest problem with most jaw exercisers is that they don't actually workout your jaw! This one does.
  • 🏚 Doesn't Break Easily: spend your money and you'll at least get something that doesn't break within the first 2 weeks.

❌ CONS

  • 💰 EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE: I'm shocked every time I see the price. Who pays $60 for that thing?? And that's the cheapest you'll find. I even found one listed for $130! It's not effective enough to justify spending that price.
  • 🍦 It's a Half Measure: JawFlex tries to simulate a proper chewing motion- but it's not really even close. Why not just actually chew instead? Using mastic gum is the best chewing option.
  • 🤡 Awkward: it's so uncomfortable that it's hard to use it. It's also not something you would pull out in public.

8. Jawzrsize Pop 'N Go

A good facial exercise for seniors and people with wrinkles. It can be used to tighten up the skin on the side of your head and neck.

However, it's not very effective for improving jawlines and building the masseter muscle.

Pop n Go - jaw exerciser

Ball shaped jaw exercisers like these are dangerous for your jaw joints. If I had to choose one, it would be the beginner Jawzrsize Pop 'N Go

✅ PROS

  • 😌 Good, Simple, Light Exercise to Stimulate The Face: many jaw exercisers are too stiff imo. The face's musculature is detailed and complex, which is why I think it reacts best to higher repetitions and lower resistance than most people think. Pop 'N Go is a good start for older people who aren't looking to improve their appearance, but instead, to exercise facial muscles they rarely use.
  • 🪖 Doesn't Break! - this is the only model from Jawzrsize that doesn't easily break. I haven't come across any cases where customers have been disappointed with how quickly it breaks.

❌ CONS

  • 🙃 A ROUND Face: Jaw exercisers that force your mouth to be so wide open, workout the temporalis muscles on the side of your head. Not your masseter muscle. That means the top half of your head will grow wider and more muscular. Not the lower part (your jawline).
  • 🦴 Could Cause Joint Damage & TMJ: the position Pop 'N Go puts your jaw in is unnatural. Your mouth is so far open, and you apply moderate force in this already awkward position- placing a lot of stress on your jaw hinge. Medical experts detest this type of jaw exerciser.

9. JS Lifestyle Jaw Exerciser

Probably the best of the gag-ball type of jaw exerciser. It's really effective for building the temporalis muscle on the side of your head. Trying to improve your jawline? Then that's NOT the muscle you want to build. Let's look at some pros and cons.

JS Lifestyle - jaw exerciser

This is one the only rubber ball jaw exerciser that doesn't break within a week

✅ PROS

  • 🛠 Doesn't Break as Quickly As Jawzrsize: I know, it's not much of a benefit. The rubber used to make JS Lifestyle is more durable and the seams are attached better than most jaw exercisers of this type.
  • 🦷 Teeth Moulds Fit Are Comfortable: JS Lifestyle isn't uncomfortable and stressful on your teeth. The moulds can be adjusted to fit your teeth.

❌ CONS

  • 🏚 They Still Break Pretty Quickly: this type of rubber ball jaw exerciser are notorious for breaking quickly. The teeth mould part (see the picture above) usually falls out and you have to buy a replacement if you want to keep using it.
  • 🙃 You'll Get a ROUND Face: Jaw exercisers that force your mouth to be so wide open, workout the temporalis muscles on the side of your head. Not your masseter muscle. That means the top half of your head will grow wider and more muscular. Not the lower part (your jawline).
  • 🦴 Causes Joint Damage & TMJ: the position JS Lifestyle puts your jaw in is unnatural. Your mouth is so far open, and you apply high force in this already awkward position- placing extreme stress on your jaw hinge. Medical experts detest this type of jaw exerciser.

10. Jawzrsize

The most well-known, but also one of the worst. Let's look at why Jawzrsize is on the bottom of the list.

Jawzrsize - jaw exerciser

Jawzrsize damages your jaw joints (contributes to TMJ), breaks after a few uses and isn't even an effective jaw workout. Not recommended.

✅ PROS

  • 👋 Most Well-Known Jaw Exerciser: Jawzrsize were one of the first on the market, their branding is recognizable.
  • 👻 They Won't Scam You: Jawzrsize is a legitimate company and if you ask for a refund, you'll get it.
  • 🇺🇸 Made in USAmost jaw exercisers are made in China or Pakistan. That doesn't mean the quality is worse, but you don't know about the healthy and safety conditions of the workers.

❌ CONS

  • 🏚 They Break Quickly: I've never head of anyone having a Jawzrsize (that they used) that last longer than a month. The teeth mould part (see the picture above) usually falls out and you have to buy a replacement. If you've got different models, it can get extremely expensive fast.
  • 🙃 You'll Get a ROUND Face: I'm guessing that's not what you want right? Jaw exercisers that force your mouth to be so wide open, workout the temporalis muscles on the side of your head. Not your masseter muscle. That means the top half of your head will grow wider and more muscular. Not the lower part (your jawline).
  • 🦴 Causes Joint Damage & TMJ: the position Jawzrsize puts your jaw in is unnatural. Your mouth is so far open, and you apply high force in this already awkward position- placing extreme stress on your jaw hinge. Medical experts detest this type of jaw exerciser.

⚠️  Rubber Jaw Exercisers Will Cause Severe Jaw Problems

Most jaw exercisers don't actually workout your jaw. They train the temporalis muscle above your ear on the side of your head.

Exercisers like Jawzrsize make you chew with your mouth wide open. This puts enormous strain on your jaw hinge and will lead to a myriad of problems in the future.
